What to expect
Pattaya Beach runs about 4 km along the bay, with Beach Road parallel to the sand. Daytime use is mostly beach chairs, swimming, and water-sport operators. Hotels, restaurants, and shops sit immediately inland.
The northern stretch near Soi 1 is usually quieter. Central and southern sections have more vendors, boat operators, and traffic. The south end connects into Walking Street after dark.
Beach chair and umbrella rentals are common; confirm the price before sitting down. Public toilets and showers are limited — many visitors use nearby hotels or cafés.
Getting there
Central Pattaya along Beach Road. Songthaews run the Beach Road / Second Road loop; taxis and ride apps drop at numbered sois. Walking from Central Festival or Terminal 21 takes 15–25 minutes depending on starting point.
Practical tips
- Sunset light is strongest looking west over the bay.
- Agree water-sport prices before boarding.
- Keep valuables off the sand; use a hotel safe when possible.
