Songthaews loop Beach Road and Second Road. The baht bus covers that loop. From Central Pattaya they loop those two roads down to Walking Street. The walk follows Beach Road. Walking Street is the short night strip at the bottom of Beach Road. Stay near one neighbourhood so you are not crossing the whole city.
When walking beats a songthaew
Walking can beat a songthaew when Second Road traffic crawls. On that Beach Road and Second Road loop, walk Beach Road instead of waiting in the crawl. From Walking Street, Bali Hai Pier sits at the south end of Beach Road.
When walking is not enough
Songthaews do not cover the Pratumnak ridge well. Once you leave that loop, Pratumnak and Jomtien are simpler by taxi or ride app. See taxis for those rides. Jomtien is a longer hop via the hill.

Beach Road ↔ Walking Street
Walk or take a songthaew south along the promenade to the arch.
Beach Road ↔ Second Road
Songthaews loop Beach Road and Second Road on the same grid. Cross inland for Sai 2 malls, spas, and dinners. Walking Street is the short strip at the bottom of Beach Road.
Beach Road ↔ Soi 6
Soi 6 runs from Beach Road to Second Road, north of Central Pattaya Road. Walk inland. Ruby Club and the Soi 6 massage shop sit on that soi.
Second Road ↔ Soi 6
Soi 6 is the short soi from Sai 2 back to Beach Road, north of Central Pattaya Road. Walk toward the sand. Ruby Club and the Soi 6 massage shop sit on that soi.
Second Road ↔ Soi Buakhao
Inland hop from Pattaya Sai 2 onto the Second Road / Third Road corridor. Walk, taxi, or a ride app. Tree Town is on that soi near Second Road.
South Pattaya ↔ Beach Road
Beach Road is the promenade north of the south-bay corridor. Walk or take a songthaew onto that loop. Walking Street is the short strip at the bottom of Beach Road.
Pratumnak ↔ Central Pattaya
Taxi or a ride app is simpler than waiting on a songthaew once you leave the Beach Road / Second Road loop.

Drop down the hill to the south-bay strip by taxi, ride app, or scooter. Walking Street is at the bottom of Beach Road.
Jomtien ↔ Central Pattaya
Longer hop via the hill. Taxis and ride apps are simpler than a songthaew for this stretch.
Walking Street ↔ Jomtien
From Walking Street, Jomtien is the next beach south over Pratumnak Hill. Taxi, ride app, or scooter.

Taxi or a ride app down the North Pattaya / Naklua corridor onto the Beach Road / Second Road loop.
Jomtien ↔ Na Jomtien
